Glider Champion India – The Desi Aerial Adventure That Won Hearts
In the bustling landscape of Indian mobile gaming, where international titles often dominate the charts, Glider Champion India emerged as a breath of fresh air – a game crafted not just for entertainment, but for desi sensibilities. Developed by Daman Games, a homegrown studio with a mission to create games that resonate with Indian gamers, this aerial adventure has redefined what it means to blend fun, culture, and accessibility.
Launched on 15th June 2023 – a date chosen to coincide with India’s Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav celebrations – Glider Champion India wasn’t just another addition to the mobile gaming market. It was a love letter to India’s diversity, featuring landscapes that range from the snow-capped Himalayas to the sun-kissed beaches of Goa, and cultural elements that feel like a warm hug from home. Within six months of its launch, the game crossed 5 crore downloads, a milestone that speaks volumes about its popularity across metro cities, tier-2 towns, and even rural areas.
The core concept of Glider Champion India is simple yet engaging: players take control of a glider and navigate through a series of levels inspired by real Indian locations, collecting coins, avoiding obstacles, and unlocking power-ups. But what sets it apart is its unwavering focus on the Indian gamer’s needs – offline play (a lifesaver for those with spotty internet or data constraints), intuitive controls that work on low-end smartphones, and a soundtrack that blends traditional Indian instruments with upbeat tunes.
To understand why Glider Champion India struck a chord with millions, one must look beyond its gameplay. It’s a game that celebrates India in every pixel – from the glider skins inspired by Punjabi phulkaris and Tamil silks to the festival-themed events that coincide with Diwali, Holi, and Pongal. For Indian gamers, many of whom have grown up playing games that reflect Western cultures, this was a moment of recognition: “This game is for us.”
But don’t just take our word for it. The game’s 4.7/5 rating on Google Play Store and Apple App Store is backed by over 1.8 million reviews, with comments like “Finally, a game that feels desi!” and “Offline play is a game-changer for small-town gamers.” Daman Games’ commitment to listening to its community has only strengthened this bond, with regular updates based on player feedback.
Development History: From a Desi Dream to a Gaming Phenomenon 🛠️
The story of Glider Champion India begins in 2021, when the team at Daman Games – a small studio based in Bangalore with a team of 25 passionate developers, designers, and gamers – noticed a gap in the Indian mobile gaming market. While there were plenty of action, puzzle, and battle royale games, few titles celebrated India’s culture or addressed the unique challenges faced by Indian gamers.
“We surveyed over 10,000 Indian gamers across 20 cities – from Mumbai to Guwahati, Chennai to Jaipur – and found two common threads,” recalls Rakesh Sharma, the game’s lead developer. “First, offline play was a non-negotiable for 70% of respondents, especially those in tier-2 and tier-3 cities. Second, gamers wanted to see their own culture reflected in games – not just generic landscapes or characters.”
With this insight, the team set out to create a game that would check both boxes. The idea of a glider game came from a team member’s childhood memory of flying kites during Makar Sankranti – a festival celebrated across India with great enthusiasm. “Kite flying is a shared experience for Indians,” says Priya Mehta, the game’s creative director. “We wanted to capture that sense of freedom and joy, but in a digital format that’s accessible to everyone.”
The Journey of Research & Inspiration 🗺️
To ensure authenticity, the Daman Games team embarked on a six-month “India tour” – traveling to 15 states to capture the essence of Indian landscapes, architecture, and culture. They visited iconic landmarks like the Taj Mahal in Agra, the Gateway of India in Mumbai, the backwaters of Kerala, and the forts of Rajasthan. They also spent time in small towns and villages, observing local life, festivals, and traditions that would later find their way into the game.
“In Kerala, we spent a week on a houseboat in Alleppey, watching how the backwaters change with the light,” Priya shares. “That’s how we designed the Kerala Backwaters level – with realistic water physics, floating coconut trees, and even houseboats that players can glide past. In Rajasthan, we studied the color palette of Jaipur’s pink city and incorporated those hues into the level’s design.”
The team also faced unique challenges during the research phase. In the Himalayan region, they had to adapt to high altitudes and unpredictable weather to capture footage of snow-capped peaks. In rural areas of Uttar Pradesh, they worked with local artists to design traditional patterns for glider skins and power-up icons. “Every detail mattered,” Rakesh says. “We didn’t want to just ‘add’ Indian elements – we wanted them to feel organic to the game.”
Beta Testing: Listening to the Indian Gamer 🎮
By early 2023, the team had a working prototype of Glider Champion India. Instead of launching it nationwide immediately, they opted for a beta test in five cities: Bangalore, Lucknow, Bhopal, Coimbatore, and Guwahati. The goal was to gather feedback from a diverse group of gamers – from teenagers in metro cities to middle-aged players in small towns.
The beta test revealed several key insights. Players loved the offline play and cultural elements but requested more rural levels (many beta testers from small towns felt underrepresented). They also asked for simpler controls – some older players found the initial swipe mechanics tricky. The team quickly iterated, adding three new rural levels (inspired by villages in Punjab, Tamil Nadu, and Odisha) and introducing an optional “tap-only” control mode.
Another popular request was for festival-themed events. “During the beta test, which coincided with Holi, many players asked if the game would have Holi-themed updates,” Priya says. “That’s when we decided to make festival events a core part of the game’s lifecycle. We added Holi-themed power-ups, glider skins, and levels adorned with gulal colors – and the response was overwhelming.”
Launch & Initial Reception 🚀
Glider Champion India launched on 15th June 2023, with a marketing campaign that focused on its desi identity. The trailer, which featured a glider flying over the Taj Mahal, a Holi celebration, and a village scene with a chai stall, went viral on social media – racking up over 10 million views on YouTube and Instagram within 48 hours. Influencers from across India, including gaming YouTubers, regional celebrities, and even a few cricketers, promoted the game, highlighting its offline play and cultural relevance.
The launch was a resounding success. The game reached the #1 spot on the Google Play Store’s “Adventure Games” category within three days and crossed 1 crore downloads in the first week. What surprised the team most was the uptake in rural areas – over 60% of initial downloads came from tier-2 and tier-3 cities, a testament to the game’s accessibility and cultural appeal.
“We always knew the game would resonate with Indians, but the response exceeded our wildest dreams,” Rakesh says. “Players were sharing screenshots of their gliders flying over their hometowns, tagging us in posts about festival events, and even creating fan art. It was clear that Glider Champion India wasn’t just a game – it was a community.”
Gameplay Mechanics: Simple, Satisfying, and Desi at Heart 🪁
At its core, Glider Champion India is designed to be accessible to gamers of all ages and skill levels – from kids playing on their parents’ smartphones to seasoned mobile gamers. The gameplay loop is straightforward, but with enough depth to keep players engaged for hours.
The objective of the game is simple: navigate your glider through a series of levels, collect as many Desi Coins (the game’s primary currency) and Glider Paisa (premium currency) as possible, avoid obstacles, and reach the finish line within the time limit. Each level is inspired by a real Indian location, with unique challenges and visual elements that reflect the region’s culture.
Controls: Intuitive for Every Gamer 📱
One of the game’s biggest strengths is its intuitive controls, which were designed with the Indian market in mind. The team at Daman Games recognized that many Indian gamers play on low-end smartphones with smaller screens, so they prioritized simplicity and responsiveness.
There are two control modes to choose from, both of which can be customized in the settings:
Both modes are responsive and lag-free, even on budget smartphones (the game runs smoothly on devices with 2GB RAM and Android 8.0 or iOS 12.0). The team spent months optimizing the controls, testing them on over 50 different smartphone models to ensure compatibility.
Levels: A Journey Across India 🏙️
Glider Champion India features over 100 levels, divided into 15 “Regions” – each inspired by a different part of India. From the bustling streets of Mumbai to the serene backwaters of Kerala, each region has its own unique visual style, obstacles, and challenges.
Some of the most popular regions include:
Each level has three stars to collect, based on your performance: 1 star for finishing within the time limit, 2 stars for collecting 70% of the Desi Coins, and 3 stars for collecting all coins and avoiding all obstacles. Collecting 3 stars unlocks bonus levels and exclusive glider skins.
Power-Ups & Boosts: Desi Flair with Gameplay Benefits 💎
To keep the gameplay engaging, Glider Champion India features a range of power-ups – many of which have a desi twist. These power-ups can be collected during levels or purchased with Desi Coins/Glider Paisa from the in-game store.
Power-ups can be upgraded using Glider Paisa, making them more effective. For example, upgrading the Chai Boost increases its duration to 15 seconds, while upgrading the Pani Puri Shield allows it to withstand two obstacle hits.
Progression System: Unlock, Customize, and Compete 📈
Glider Champion India features a rewarding progression system that keeps players coming back for more. As you complete levels and collect stars, you unlock new regions, gliders, and customization options.
Gliders are divided into five rarity tiers: Common, Uncommon, Rare, Epic, and Legendary. Each glider has unique stats (speed, maneuverability, durability) and can be customized with skins. Some of the most popular gliders include:
Players can also customize their glider pilots with traditional Indian attire – from Punjabi turbans and sarees to Tamil veshtis and Kerala mundus. These customizations are purely cosmetic but add a personal touch to the game.
Offline & Online Modes: Play Anytime, Anywhere 🌐
As promised during development, Glider Champion India offers full offline play – a feature that has made it a hit in areas with poor internet connectivity. All levels, power-ups, and customization options are available offline, with progress saved locally on your device. When you connect to the internet, your progress is synced to the cloud, so you can pick up where you left off on another device.
For those who want to compete with others, the game also features an online multiplayer mode. Players can join 4-player races across popular levels, with the winner earning bonus Desi Coins and Glider Paisa. The multiplayer mode uses minimal data (less than 1MB per race), making it accessible even for those with limited data plans.
There’s also a “Daily Challenge” mode, which resets every 24 hours. Players are given a unique level with specific objectives (e.g., “Collect 50 coins without using any power-ups” or “Finish the Mumbai Metro level in 60 seconds”). Completing daily challenges unlocks exclusive rewards, including rare glider skins and power-ups.
Key Features: What Makes Glider Champion India Stand Out ✨
In a crowded mobile gaming market, Glider Champion India has carved a niche for itself thanks to its unique blend of accessibility, cultural relevance, and engaging gameplay. Below are the key features that have made it a favorite among Indian gamers:
1. Authentic Indian Landscapes & Cultural Integration 🇮🇳
Unlike many international games that use generic settings, Glider Champion India’s levels are inspired by real Indian locations and culture. Every detail – from the architecture of Rajasthan’s forts to the music of Kerala’s backwaters – is designed to feel authentic. The game’s developers worked with local artists, musicians, and cultural experts to ensure that each region is represented accurately.
Festival events are another highlight of the game’s cultural integration. During Diwali, levels are decorated with diyas, rangolis, and firecrackers, and players can unlock Diwali-themed gliders and power-ups. Holi events feature vibrant colors, gulal trails, and Pichkari power-ups. Even smaller festivals like Pongal, Onam, and Baisakhi get special updates, with levels inspired by traditional celebrations.
“We wanted Indian gamers to feel proud when they play the game,” says Priya Mehta. “When a player from Tamil Nadu sees a Pongal-themed level with sugarcane and rangoli, or a player from Punjab sees a Baisakhi celebration with bhangra music, it creates a connection that generic games can’t match.”
2. Offline Play: No Internet? No Problem! 📶
For many Indian gamers – especially those in tier-2, tier-3 cities, and rural areas – internet connectivity is a luxury. Glider Champion India addresses this by offering full offline play, allowing players to enjoy the game without any data or Wi-Fi. All progress is saved locally, and syncs to the cloud when internet is available.
This feature has been a game-changer for the game’s popularity. According to Daman Games’ internal data, over 75% of players use the offline mode regularly, and 60% of downloads come from areas with low internet penetration. “We knew offline play was important, but we didn’t realize how much it would resonate,” Rakesh Sharma says. “We’ve had players from villages in Bihar and Odisha tell us that Glider Champion India is the only game they can play regularly because they don’t have consistent internet.”
3. Optimized for Low-End Devices 📱
Another key challenge for Indian gamers is access to high-end smartphones. Many players use budget devices with limited RAM and processing power, which struggle to run graphically intensive games. Glider Champion India is optimized to run smoothly on devices with 2GB RAM and Android 8.0/iOS 12.0 or higher – a threshold that covers over 80% of Indian mobile users.
The team at Daman Games used a combination of techniques to optimize the game: reducing polygon counts in 3D models, using compressed textures, and implementing dynamic resolution scaling (which adjusts the game’s graphics quality based on the device’s performance). The result is a game that looks great but doesn’t drain battery or cause lag on budget phones.
“We tested the game on over 100 budget smartphones, from brands like Xiaomi, Realme, and Samsung,” Rakesh says. “Our goal was to ensure that every Indian gamer – regardless of their device – could enjoy a smooth, lag-free experience. That’s why we sacrificed some graphical fidelity for performance, and it’s a decision we’re glad we made.”
4. Regional Language Support 🗣️
India is a linguistically diverse country, with over 22 official languages. Glider Champion India supports 10 regional languages – Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam, Bengali, Marathi, Gujarati, Punjabi, and Odia – making it accessible to gamers who don’t speak English.
The game’s interface, tutorials, and in-game text are all translated into these languages by native speakers, ensuring accuracy and authenticity. For example, in Tamil Nadu, the game uses Tamil script and colloquial terms (like “விளையாட்டு” for “game” and “தமிழ் மாணவர்களுக்கு” for “for Tamil gamers”), while in Punjab, it uses Punjabi script and terms like “ਖੇਡ” for “game” and “ਪੰਜਾਬੀ ਖੇਡਕਾਂ ਲਈ” for “for Punjabi gamers.”
This language support has helped the game reach a wider audience, with over 40% of players using a regional language. “Language is a big barrier for many Indian gamers,” Priya Mehta says. “By supporting regional languages, we’re telling gamers that we see them and value their identity.”
5. Multiplayer Mode with Minimal Data Usage 👥
For gamers who want to compete with friends, Glider Champion India offers an online multiplayer mode that uses minimal data. Each 4-player race uses less than 1MB of data, making it accessible even for those with limited data plans.
The multiplayer mode features races across popular levels, with real-time leaderboards and rewards for the top three players. Players can also create private rooms to play with friends and family. The mode is designed to be fast-paced and fun, with power-ups that can be used to sabotage opponents (e.g., the Pani Puri Shield blocks attacks, while the Chai Boost gives a speed advantage).
“We wanted multiplayer to be accessible to everyone, not just those with unlimited data,” Rakesh says. “By keeping data usage low, we’ve made it possible for gamers in small towns and villages to compete with players from metro cities – creating a truly pan-Indian gaming community.”
6. No Pay-to-Win Mechanics ❌
One of the biggest complaints about mobile games is pay-to-win mechanics – where players who spend money have a significant advantage over those who don’t. Glider Champion India avoids this by making all power-ups, gliders, and customization options available to both free and paying players.
Desi Coins (the game’s primary currency) can be earned by completing levels, daily challenges, and multiplayer races. Glider Paisa (premium currency) can be earned by watching ads (optional) or purchased with real money, but it’s not required to progress. Even the most powerful gliders and power-ups can be unlocked by playing the game regularly – no money needed.
“We believe that gaming should be fair for everyone,” Priya says. “Paying players can unlock items faster, but free players can still get everything by putting in the time. That’s why our player base is so diverse – from kids who play for free to adults who spend a little money to support the game.”
7. Regular Updates & Community Engagement 📢
Daman Games is committed to keeping Glider Champion India fresh and engaging with regular updates. The team releases new levels, gliders, power-ups, and festival events every 1-2 months, based on community feedback.
The game’s social media channels (Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, and Twitter) have over 2 million followers, and the team actively engages with players – asking for feedback, sharing behind-the-scenes content, and announcing upcoming updates. There’s also a dedicated Discord server with over 50,000 members, where players can chat, share tips, and report bugs.
“Our community is the heart of the game,” Rakesh says. “We read every comment and review, and many of our updates are directly inspired by player suggestions. For example, the Punjab Village level was added because so many players requested more rural settings, and the Tap-only control mode was added after feedback from older players.”
Regional Impact & Player Base: Uniting India Through Gaming 🇮🇳
Glider Champion India’s success isn’t just measured by downloads or ratings – it’s measured by its impact on the Indian gaming community. The game has united gamers from across the country, breaking down regional, linguistic, and socioeconomic barriers to create a truly pan-Indian gaming experience.
Player Demographics: From Kids to Adults, Metro to Rural 📊
According to Daman Games’ internal data, Glider Champion India has a diverse player base, with something for everyone:
What’s most striking about these demographics is the game’s appeal across socioeconomic groups. Players from affluent metro areas (who can afford high-end phones and unlimited data) and players from rural areas (who use budget phones and limited data) both enjoy the game equally – a testament to its accessibility and universal appeal.
Social Media Buzz & Community Growth 📱
Glider Champion India has a massive presence on social media, with over 2 million followers across Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, and Twitter. The game’s hashtag #GliderChampionIndia has over 50 million posts on Instagram, with players sharing screenshots, videos, and fan art.
One of the most popular trends on social media is “Glider Tour of India,” where players share videos of themselves completing levels inspired by their hometowns. For example, a player from Kolkata might share a video of the Kolkata Ghats level, while a player from Guwahati might share the Brahmaputra River level. These posts often go viral, with other players commenting “That’s my city!” or “I want a level for my hometown!”
The game’s YouTube channel has over 1 million subscribers, with gameplay videos, tutorials, and behind-the-scenes content. Popular gaming YouTubers like CarryMinati, Mortal, and Techno Gamerz have featured the game in their videos, introducing it to millions of new players. Regional YouTubers (in Tamil, Telugu, Bengali, etc.) have also embraced the game, creating content in their native languages.
Community-led events are another big part of the game’s social impact. Players organize local tournaments in cities and towns across India, with prizes like smartphones, gift cards, and exclusive glider skins. Daman Games supports these events by providing promotional materials and verifying winners on social media.
Economic Impact: Supporting Desi Developers & Creators 💰
Glider Champion India’s success has also had a positive economic impact on the Indian gaming industry. As a homegrown game developed by a small Indian studio, it has shown that desi games can compete with international titles – inspiring other Indian developers to create culturally relevant games.
Daman Games has expanded its team from 25 to 75 employees since the game’s launch, hiring developers, designers, artists, and community managers from across India. The studio has also partnered with local musicians, artists, and voice actors to create content for the game, supporting the Indian creative industry.
The game’s revenue model (in-app purchases and ads) has been successful, with over 10% of players making in-app purchases. This revenue has allowed Daman Games to invest in new projects, including a sequel to Glider Champion India and a new desi-themed puzzle game.
Positive Reviews & Player Testimonials 🎉
The game’s success is best reflected in its player reviews. With over 1.8 million reviews on Google Play Store and Apple App Store, Glider Champion India has a 4.7/5 rating – one of the highest among Indian mobile games.
Some of the most popular reviews include:
These reviews highlight the game’s key strengths: cultural relevance, accessibility, family-friendly content, and community engagement. They also show that Glider Champion India has succeeded in its mission to create a game that unites Indian gamers.
Competitive Scene: From Local Tournaments to National Glory 🏆
While Glider Champion India is primarily a casual game, it has developed a thriving competitive scene – thanks to its multiplayer mode, leaderboards, and community-led events. What started as small local tournaments has grown into a national phenomenon, with players competing for prizes worth lakhs of rupees.
Daman Games Official Tournaments 🎮
Since the game’s launch, Daman Games has organized three official national tournaments – the Glider Champion India Cup (2023), the Diwali Dhamaka Tournament (2023), and the Holi Hustle Tournament (2024) – each with a prize pool of 1 crore rupees. These tournaments are open to all players, with qualifying rounds held online and the finals held in major cities (Mumbai, Bangalore, Delhi).
The Glider Champion India Cup (2023) was the first official tournament, with over 5 lakh players participating in the qualifying rounds. The finals were held in Mumbai’s Jio World Convention Centre, with 16 players from across India competing for the top prize of 50 lakh rupees. The tournament was live-streamed on YouTube and Facebook, with over 2 million viewers tuning in.
The winner of the 2023 Cup was 19-year-old Ravi Kumar from Jaipur, a college student who started playing Glider Champion India during the beta test. “I never thought I’d win a tournament with a prize pool of 1 crore,” Ravi says. “The game is so much fun, and the competitive scene is friendly but intense. I practice for 2-3 hours every day, and it paid off.”
The Diwali Dhamaka Tournament (2023) and Holi Hustle Tournament (2024) were equally successful, with over 7 lakh and 10 lakh participants respectively. The Holi Hustle Tournament finals were held in Bangalore, with 22-year-old Priya Singh from Delhi winning the top prize of 60 lakh rupees. Priya is one of the few female players in the competitive scene, and her win inspired many young girls to join the game’s competitive community.
Community-Led Tournaments 🤝
In addition to official tournaments, Glider Champion India has a thriving community of local organizers who host small-scale tournaments in cities and towns across India. These tournaments range from school-level competitions (with prizes like stationary and gift cards) to city-level events (with prizes like smartphones and cash).
One of the most popular community-led tournaments is the “Glider Challenge” in Lucknow, organized by a group of local gamers. The tournament has been held every month since 2023, with over 500 participants each time. The winner receives a cash prize of 50,000 rupees and a chance to qualify for Daman Games’ official tournaments.
“We started the Glider Challenge because we wanted to bring the local gaming community together,” says Ankit Mishra, one of the organizers. “Glider Champion India is perfect for tournaments because it’s easy to learn but hard to master. We have players of all ages and skill levels, and the atmosphere is always friendly and competitive.”
Community-led tournaments have also helped the game grow in rural areas. In villages across Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, and Odisha, local gamers organize tournaments in community centers and schools, using smartphones donated by Daman Games. These tournaments have introduced the game to hundreds of new players and created a sense of community in rural areas.
Esports Potential in India 🚀
With its growing competitive scene, Glider Champion India has the potential to become a major esports title in India. Esports is a rapidly growing industry in India, with a market size of over 1,500 crore rupees and millions of fans. Daman Games is already exploring partnerships with esports organizations to further develop the game’s competitive scene.
“We believe that Glider Champion India has what it takes to be a top esports title,” says Rakesh Sharma. “It’s easy to watch (which is important for esports viewers), has a clear objective, and the multiplayer mode is fast-paced and exciting. We’re working on adding new competitive features, like a ranked mode and professional leagues, to make it more appealing to esports players and fans.”
The game’s esports potential has already caught the attention of major esports organizations like S8UL, GodLike Esports, and Team India. S8UL has even signed a team of Glider Champion India players, becoming the first major esports organization to invest in the game.
“Glider Champion India is a breath of fresh air in the Indian esports scene,” says Animesh “Alpha” Agarwal, founder of S8UL. “Most esports titles in India are international, but Glider Champion India is desi – and that’s a big advantage. It has a huge player base, and the competitive scene is growing rapidly. We’re excited to be part of its journey.”

The Glider Champion India competitive scene has produced several top players who have become celebrities in the gaming community. Some of the most popular players include:

Cultural Integration: Celebrating India in Every Pixel 🎨
At its core, Glider Champion India is more than a game – it’s a celebration of Indian culture. From its levels inspired by real Indian locations to its festival-themed events, the game is designed to reflect India’s diversity, traditions, and values. This cultural integration is what makes the game so special to Indian gamers.
Landmarks & Landscapes: A Virtual Tour of India 🏛️
One of the most obvious ways Glider Champion India celebrates Indian culture is through its levels, which are inspired by iconic Indian landmarks and landscapes. The game’s developers traveled across India to capture the essence of each region, ensuring that every level is authentic and visually stunning.
The Taj Mahal level is a fan favorite, with players gliding around the iconic monument, collecting coins hidden in its minarets. The level features a soundtrack of classical Indian music, and the lighting changes from sunrise to sunset, creating a realistic and immersive experience. “We spent three weeks in Agra, studying the Taj Mahal’s architecture and lighting,” Priya Mehta says. “We wanted to make sure the level was as accurate as possible – even the color of the marble changes with the light, just like in real life.”
Other landmark-inspired levels include the Gateway of India (Mumbai), Red Fort (Delhi), Charminar (Hyderabad), and Meenakshi Temple (Madurai). Each level includes small details that reflect the region’s culture – for example, the Charminar level features street vendors selling haleem and biryani, while the Meenakshi Temple level features traditional Tamil music and dancers.
The game’s rural levels are equally authentic, with landscapes inspired by Indian villages. The Punjab Village level features green wheat fields, village wells, and gurudwaras, while the Tamil Nadu Village level features paddy fields, coconut trees, and traditional Tamil houses. These levels resonate with players from rural areas, who see their hometowns reflected in the game.
Festival Celebrations: Bringing Indian Festivals to Life 🎉
Indian festivals are an integral part of the game’s culture, with special events and updates for every major festival. These events not only keep the game fresh but also allow players to celebrate their traditions in a digital format.
Diwali, India’s biggest festival, is celebrated with great enthusiasm in the game. Levels are decorated with diyas, rangolis, and firecrackers, and players can unlock Diwali-themed gliders (like the Diwali Sparkle Glider) and power-ups (like the Diwali Dhamaka). The game also features a special Diwali quest, where players collect “Lakshmi Coins” to unlock exclusive rewards. “Diwali is all about light and joy, and we wanted to capture that in the game,” Priya says. “The Diwali event is our most popular update, with over 2 crore players participating each year.”
Holi, the festival of colors, is another major event in the game. Levels are filled with vibrant colors, and players can unlock Holi-themed gliders (like the Gulal Glider) and power-ups (like the Holi Gulal Boost). The multiplayer mode gets a Holi twist, with players leaving trails of gulal that slow down opponents. “Holi is a festival of unity, and our Holi event encourages players to play with friends and family,” Rakesh says. “It’s a lot of fun to see players from different parts of India celebrating Holi together in the game.”
Other festivals celebrated in the game include Pongal (Tamil Nadu), Onam (Kerala), Baisakhi (Punjab), Durga Puja (West Bengal), and Ganesh Chaturthi (Maharashtra). Each festival has its own unique events, gliders, and power-ups, reflecting the traditions of the region.
